Rockland mercy's Waldoboro as 9-10 softball playoffs begin

The District II Little League playoffs for 9-10 year old softball got underway Wednesday in Waldoboro with Rockland downing Waldoboro 15-5 in a five inning mercy rule game.

Ari Curtis pitched the complete game win for Rockland allowing five runs on four hits and four walks while striking out two.

Shelbe Lane pitched for Waldoboro allowing 15 runs on 14 hits and six walks while striking out two.

Rockland got offensive production up and down line up. Curtis (2 hits, 2 runs), Sydney Hall (hit, 3 runs), Ireland Leblanc 2 hits, 3 runs), Brianna Dugan (2 hits, 2 runs), Krisandra McNichol (hit, run), Alexis Mazurek (2 hits, run), Emily Hutchinson (hit, run), Olivia Staples (hit, 2 runs), Nina Lavigne (hit) and Jennifer Carter (hit).

For Waldoboro, Mikayla Brazier (2 hits, run), Stephanie Hill (hit), Megan Sykes (hit, run), Cassie Wadsworth, Lane and Whitney Dow (run each).

Rockland will take on Lincoln County July 7 in Nobleboro while Waldoboro will face the loser of that game in an elimination game at Warren July 9.
