Kennebunkport squeaks out 9-8 shortened game win over Calais

(Photo by Skip Hawkes)As the dark clouds overhead continued to get darker and the rain began to fall, Kennebunkport rallied for two runs in the bottom of the fourth to regain the lead (9-8) and eventual winning margin after Calais scored three in the top of the inning for an 8-7 lead.
Carinn Burns provided the highlight of the game ripping a fly ball over the head of the center fielder for a 2-run inside the park home run in the first inning.

Allison King was the winning pitcher.
Calais hitters were Megan Cavanaugh (double, RBI), Bridget Hunnewell (two singles, RBI), Paige Gillespie (single, RBI), Malorie Black (two singles), Lena Gadway (single), and Laura Mitchell (single).
Kennebunkport plays Scarborough at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, and Calais will take on Auburn at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
